Louis met his future wife when Mary Lou Jeffries's family moved from Beulah, Mississippi to Blytheville, Arkansas in 1939. His first paying job was with Pepsi Cola in Blytheville, Arkansas. When his father died, because he was alone (about 15 1/2 years old) his future wife's mom (Nellie Cole Jeffries Ingram) told (didn't ask) him to move in their family house. They treated him like a son (but hopefully), according to Aunt Mary Lou, a future son in law someday.

Louis married Mary Lou in 1954 by the Justice of the peace in Blytheville, Arkansas. He served in the US Army from 1955-1957 and spent his US Army military time in Germany.

He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, husband and Uncle. He was also a very loving and caring man and often put his own interests before others without expecting anything in return.

He was preceded in death by his father (Frank Jones), his mother (Effie Maude Curtis), his twin brothers (Frances, the other unknown), his sister (Dorothy Jones), his wife (Mary Lou Jones), his son (Horatio Louis Jones Jr.) and his dog "Lucy Jones".

He leaves behind a number of nieces and nephews, his daughter in law (Linda [Cajizas] Jones) and his grandchildren: Joshua, Justin, Stephine and Jacob Jones.
