Karen Leigh Duke Jaster passed away Friday, April 2, 2010, after a long battle with cancer.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday at South Park Baptist Church, 7201 Crowley Road. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park of Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Laurel Land Funeral Home.
Karen was born June 23, 1963, to Junior Duke and Avo Fivekiller.
She dedicated her life to being a wonderful mother to her two boys: fighting for Kirk Jr.'s right to a proper education; becoming president of the Autism Society and helping others with autistic children find help; going to all of Jason's ball games and involving herself in his activities.
Karen, while battling cancer, was on the Dean's List at Texas Woman's University.
Thanks to hospice at James L. West for all their support.
Karen was preceded in death by her father, Junior Duke.
Survivors: She is survived by her husband, Kirk Jaster of the home; sons, Kirk Jr. of the home and Jason of North Richland Hills; her mother, Avo Fivekiller of Porum, Okla.; brother, Rodney Duke of Porum, Okla.; nieces, Cara Duke of Muldrow, Okla., and Kayla Duke of Tulsa, Okla.; special uncle and aunt, Jerry and Kaye Hughes; special cousins, Carla, Cole and Collin Rodden; and many loving aunts and cousins.
