Mr. Pethan was born in Lawrenceburg, Tenn., July 7, 1874, the son of Henry and Eva Pethan. He attended St. Mary’s school in Chilton. Mr. Pethan retired from farming some time ago.
On Nov. 13, 1906, he married Miss Margaret Daun at Charlesburg. He was a member of the Holy Name Society, St. Joseph’s society and the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin, branch 118, of Charlesburg.
Surviving are his wife, three sons, Leonard at home; Henry and Roman of Charlesburg, and four daughters, Mrs. Zeno Meyers, Mrs. Gregory Propson and Mrs. Roland Gruber, Charlesburg; and Mrs. Marvin Ecker, Stockbridge. Seventeen grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Rose Eldridge, also remain. One brother and one sister preceded him in death.
