Soldier's Body Arrives
The body of Arthur Morris arrived here from France last Friday morning. The body arrived before it was expected and no arrangements had been made for its reception, not even the immediate relatives were expecting the body as soon as it arrived.
Arthur Morris joined the colors from Van Zandt county and went overseas with the 90th division. He did active and valiant service for his country on the battlefield, but was unfortunately killed by accident in camp. Obe McKey who saw him when the accident occurred told us that he was standing before a mirror shaving. Another member of his company was cleaning his rifle when it went off and the bullet struck young Morris in the head. His body was carried to the home of his parents Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Morris, and from there was laid to rest in the Morris cemetery near Denman. -- Mabank Banner.
