Mrs. Walter Vander Wilt, nee Minnie Slothouber, 59, passed away at her home Saturday, Jan 2, 1943 after an illness of a few months.

She was born in the Netherlands in 1883. At the age of 2 years she came to America with her parents Mr. and Mrs. E. Slothouber. The family arrived at Alton, Ia. and moved to Middleburg the following year.

In the year 1900 she was married to Walter Vander Wilt. The couple began their married life on the farm 1 mile west of Middleburg, where they have resided until the time of her death.

Survivors are her husband and 4 children: Katherine, Mrs. Jerry Dykstra and Amos Vander Wilt both of Sioux Center; Anthony W. Vander Wilt of Middleburg and Albert Vander Wilt of Milford, Ia. Surviving also are 2 brothers, Albert Slothouber of Orange City and Gerrit Slothouber of Boyden.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the First Ref. church of Middleburg with Rev. Kolenbrander and Rev. F. B. Mansen officiating. Interment was made in the Middleburg cemetery. Vander Ploegs of Sioux Center had charge of the funeral arrangements.
