Wright, Mr. Melvin R.
Age 65, Passed away on Friday, March 16, 1984, at St. Luke's Memorial Hospital. He was born in Corning, AR, on September 4, 1918, and had been a resident of Racine for 19 years. He was married to Nora Lucille Stacy on October 29, 1938, in Corning, AR, and she preceded him in death on June 16, 1981. He was a Rifleman and Medic in the US Army during WWII. He was a Folklift Driver for JI Case Co. for 17 years, retiring in 1981. Surviving are four sons and three daughters-in-law, Richard and Donna Wright of St. Louis, MO, Raymond Wright of Racine, Rogers and Bobbie Wright of Arlington, TX, Franklin and Theresa Wright; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Wilma Hall, Brenda and Albert Knecht, all of Racine, Roberta and Daniel LaChance of Sturtevant, Peggy and Ronald Tremelling of Racine; 20 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five brothers and four sister-in-law, Harold and Opal Wright, Milburn and Denice Wright, Clarence and Vivian Wright, Norman Wright, Donald and Pat Wright; two sister and brothers-in-law, Loretta and Ben McGee, Florence and Bob Ray; nieces, nephews, other relatitives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver R. and Dollie Wright, two daughters, Shirley Ruth Chronister and Linda Faye Wright, three sons, Glendall Wright, Melvin Wright, Steven Wright, a brother, George Wright, and a sister, Desse Thomas.Funeral services will be held on Manday, March 19, at 11:00 a.m. at the STROUF-SHEFFIELD FUNERAL HOME, 1001 High St., with Rev. Paul Wesselink offication. Interment will be at William Cemetery, Corning, AR. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Sunday from 6:00 until 9: p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials to the Diabetes Association have been suggested.
