Nellie Payne Eby

Nellie Payne Eby, 92, of Church St., passed into the loving arms of our Savior 1:52 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, 1994, at her residence, following an extended illness.

She was born Oct. 9, 1902, in Ross County, to Edmond Lee and Ida Mae Winks Payne.

She was married Oct. 27, 1924, to Lewis G Eby, Sr., who died Feb. 19, 1978.

Surviving is a daughter, Lois A. Eby and a son, Lewis G. Eby, Jr. both at home; a son, Calvin L. Eby, San Marcos, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, dear friends and neighbors.

She was predeceased by daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Carl Drake, Sr.; infant daughter, Donna Bell Eby; an infant son; an infant great-grandson; brothers, Forrest and Walter Payne; sisters, Ruth M. Smith and Wreatha Payne. Mrs. Eby was a life long member of the High Street Church of Christ in Christian Union, where funeral services are to be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, with Rev. Robert Isaacs officiating. Burial will follow In Brown's Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ware Funeral Home 5-9 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 311 W. Water St., Chillicothe.
