Jack as he was known, was married to Clara Rappleye Gibson on July 21, 1911, at Cody, WY. They had one daughter, Norma Gene Snell, (known as Gene) born on April 29, 1920. Jack also had a step daughter, Maxine Gibson Mangus.

Jack was killed in auto accident on the highway between Billings and Laurel.

He grazed cattle at Dry Head, MT (north of Lovell, WY).
