He was born July 2, 1985 in Santa Maria, CA. He attended local schools including Righetti High; he graduated from the Alaska Military Youth Academy in 2002.
At the age of 17 on August 16, 2002 he joined the United States Navy; he was stationed at Norfolk, VA and San Diego, CA. serving on the U.S.S. Shiloh guided missile cruiser.
Josh is survived by his mother Sharon K. Carr of Santa Maria, father and step-mother Stan D. Carr and Maggie Carr of St. George, UT, Grandfathers Dr. Jack N. Sohrbeck of Santa Maria and Stanley Carr, Sr. of Mesquite, NV, and Grandmother and step-grandfather Carla and Ray Tosti of St. George, UT, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
