Mr. Porter was born Jan. 2, 1957, in Dumas to Joe and Joyce Porter. He and his family moved from Dumas when he was three years old.
Survivors include a daughter, Abigail Anna Porter of Greensboro, N.C.; a son, Joshua Paul Porter of Orlando, Fla.; and his mother, Joyce Porter Burell of Fort Worth.
