Gary Lee Hill, 47 years old, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away at home on October 14, 2010, surrounded by family.
Born December 5, 1962, in Shelbyville, IN, he was the son of Charles Coleman Price and Judy Kay Hill Petty.
Gary served a year in the reserves before serving for 13 years of active duty in U.S. Army, achieving the rank of Drill Sergeant. He did a tour in Germany and was stationed at Ft. Riley, Kansas and Ft. Sill, Oklahoma.
Gary was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church. He was a classic car enthusiast and enjoyed building model cars.
On April 28, 2003, he married Deana Marie Green, who preceded him in death on June 8, 2009. [*Note - headstone has incorrect marriage date].
Gary is survived by his previous wife, Denica Kay Miller Hill and their two daughters, Nicole Rene Hill and Kaylee Rene Hill, (all of Shelbyville, Indiana); and his former wife, Marlies Vaine Bellows and their son, Cody J. Quinn (both of Connecticut) and daughter, Sara Ann (Nick) Hill D'Andrea (Carmel, Indiana).
He is further survived by both parents, Charles (Natasha) Price and Judy Petty, his sisters Melissa [Kelvin] Price Beaty (Indianapolis, Indiana), Cosetta (T.J.) Price Leatherman, and Kim (Mike) Price Platt (both of Carrolton, Kentucky), brothers Micky Stapp (Indianapolis, Indiana) and Travis (Jessica) Price (Carrolton, Kentucky), by grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, godchildren, other relatives and many friends.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Tracy Coleman Price and Ricky Shane Stapp, his grandparents William Ernest Price and Anna Catherine Wise Price, Olen Alonzo Hill and Hazel Alice Smith Hill.
Place of burial will be the Greenwood Cemetery, Greenwood, Indiana.
A celebration of life will be held at the G.H. Hermann Funeral Home on Madison Avenue, 5141 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana on Saturday, October 23 at 5:00 pm with calling here from 3:00 pm until service time. Please dress casual.
