Gladys P. Akes, daughter of Henry Donation Akes and Lizzie Mae Bullard, was born December 24, 1905 in Decatur, Iowa and died January 29, 2000 in Leon, Iowa. She married Oscar Arlis Eastin on February 21, 1928 in Leon, Iowa.They lived on farms near Decatur and Weldon, Iowa, where Oscar continued teaching. Two sons were born to this union, Paul Arlis Eastin and Larry Lloyd Eastin. In 1955 they left the farm, moving to Leon.
Surviving are; two sons; Paul Eastin and wife Evelyn and Larry Eastin and wife Louellen, all of Leon; four grandchildren; Larry Hamilton, Gary Eastin, Coleen Eastin, and Dennis Eastin; six great grandchildren; Shawn and Lonnie Hamilton, Brandon Eastin, Tony Young, Estelle Smith, and Rachel Smith; one great great granddaughter, Ashley Hamilton
