James William Byrd, a native of Pineapple AL, a resident of Mobile AL for the past 14 years, died at a local hospital Thursday morning, April 19, 1945. Funeral services will be held at Roche Funeral Home, Friday morning at 10 o'clock. Interment will be in Pine Crest cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Anna Rea Byrd; a stepson, William Rupert Batchelor, both of Mobile; two brothers, Joseph L Byrd, of Brewton AL and Jerry Byrd of Birmingham AL; two sisters, Mrs W W White of Uriah AL, and Viola McClelland of Crestview FL; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
