Funeral services were held here Tuesday, January 11, at the Christian Church at

Lyle Posten. Pall bearers were Newell Darrah, Kenneth Darrah, Cliff Driskill,
Perry James, Ed King and Tracy Kepner. Interment was made in the Walnut Grove

Mr. Hoxie was born in Corning, January 9, 1884 and died one day before his 65th
birthday, January 8, 1949, at a hospital in Sioux City. Iowa. He was the
youngest son of Capt. and Mrs. W. H. Hoxie, his father being the pioneer editor
of Corning's first paper. The deceased was married to Adaline K. Darrah,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Darrah, and was preceded in death by his wife. He
is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Harriet Maloni, and one granddaughter, Barbara
Adaline Maloni, of Lawndale, California; one sister, Mrs. Wm. Duncanson of
Middletown, New York; nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hoxie numbered his friends by his acquaintances, many of whom still reside
in Corning. Although he no longer lived in this community, he always felt In his
heart that it was home. His body was accompanied here for burial by his only
daughter. Happy and serene in the knowledge that his Maker was calling, he was
ready and willing to rejoin the wife of his youth. His pain has ended and he, at
last, has "gone home."
