I have found through research that some of the death certificate's information is incorrect. His father was Napoleon W. Vaughn (Vaughan) (Born abt. 1843 Died bet. 1870-1880) and Ann Eliza Graves (Born abt. March 1841 Died bet. 1910-1920) (both born in Virginia).
John Donald Vaughan married Mary Katherine (Katie) Garner in about 1899.
They had three children: David N. Vaughan, George Richard Vaughan and William H. Vaughan.
John Donald Vaughan's grave is located at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, outside of Chase City, Virginia.
