Rickey Wayne Fleming, Father and Best Friend

On Oct. 16, 1999, Rick lost his battle to a rare disease while at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was a very special man who will be greatly missed. Rick was born on Aug. 1, 1947, at St. Joseph Hospital to Wayne and Lora Fleming. He grew up and resided in Puyallup his entire life. Rick was a member of the Teamsters Local #313 for many years and the Puyallup Eagles Lodge #2308. During his career as a truck driver he saw many things and met many people. He retired from PraxAir in 1998 due to his illness. During his sickness he never became discouraged and was always smiling. In the end he decided it was time to go home and left us quietly in the night. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ervin Fleming; his grandmother, Masel Fleming, and his father, Wayne Fleming. He is survived by his daughter, Marla Fleming (Kyle McCormack); his son, Jeff Fleming; his mother, Lora Grewall; his sisters, Diane Stull and Sally Martin; his cousin, David Phelan; his ex-wife and best friends, Valorie and Paul Rolstad; and his life-long friends, Jim and Shirley Baderdeen. Dad, we hope that you are at peace and are watching down and protecting us. We love you. Memorial services Thurs., Oct. 21, 1999, at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home in Puyallup.
