Born and raised in Ludington, MI., Bill Joined the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII and was stationed at Coast Guard Station Gay Head on Martha's Vineyard Island, Massachusetts. He settled on Martha's Vineyard and served as United States Postmaster, Menemsha, MA until his retirement in 1972. Bill moved back to Michigan and died there in 1987 after a long illness. He left a daughter Nancy, and twin sons David and Doug.
