Mrs. Iris “Sug” Mills, age 94, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2020 at Vista Park. Mrs. Mills was born on May 8, 1926 in Alma, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rhozier Mills, infant son Jim Mills, her parents, Ira and Marie Yawn Cannon, five brothers, seven sisters and a son-in-law, John Mattox. Mrs. Mills was the oldest living member of Forest Grove Baptist Church. She had been a member for 65 + years.

Survivors include her daughter, Jerris Mattox of Douglas, GA; one grandson, Vince Cothren of Nicholls, GA; one great granddaughter, Lindsey Minis and her husband T.L. and their children, Hayden, Easton and Allie of Claxton, GA; one great grandson, Aaron D. Cothren and his wife Allie and their children Aaron Jr. and Avery of Anaconda, MT; one sister-in-law, Sara Ann Anderson and her husband Hubert, one special nephew, Russell Mills; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at 11:00 am at Roberts Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Fussell officiating. Sims Funeral Home, Douglas, GA is in charge of arrangements.

Due to the Coronavirus, attendees are asked to comply with the current guidelines and restrictions concerning containment of the Coronavirus, including social distancing of six feet of separation.
