BOWIE, MD - Reginald T. "R.T." Ford, beloved father of Denise, Tom, Charlie and Mark, passed away September 6, 2009.

He was born May 20, 1927 in Springfield, Georgia and resided in Bowie, Maryland.

Mr. Ford graduated from Effingham County High School.

He served his country in the Merchant Marines.

He married Elsie Neidlinger (originally from Springfield, GA) in 1947. They celebrated fifty-four years of marriage until she died in 2002.

He worked as a stationary engineer for his entire life.

Mr. Ford was a loving, caring and generous husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.

He is survived by his four children, their spouses, twelve grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service was held at Bethel Assembly of God in Savage, Maryland on September 9, 2009.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2009 in the funeral home chapel.

Interment: Springfield Cemetery Annex.
