Mr. Rex W. Dickey, 54, of Jones Avenue, entered into rest Tuesday, July 22, 2003 at Anna Maria Rehab and Nursing Facility. Mr. Dickey was a lifelong resident of Burke County and a a graduate of Waynesboro High School in 1966.He attended Georgia Southern University, and was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.He was an avid sportsman and loved hunting, and was a lover of the great outdoors.Mr. Dickey was a supporter of Georgia Public Television.He was Christian by faith and had worked for Legion Industries for over 30 years. Survivors: spouse, Elizabeth N. Dickey of Waynesboro; one sister, Phyllis D. Seabolt of Gainesville; several nieces and nephews. Visitation: 7:00-9:00 p.m. Thursday, July 24, at the funeral home. Funeral Services: 2:00 p.m.Friday,July25,at DeLoach-Kennedy Funeral Home in the Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Dixon officiating. Burial: Burke Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers: Charles McLeroy, John Lovett, William McNeely, Freddie DeLoach, Les Peel, Ben Reese, Walt Seegar, Everette Newman and David Petrea.
