Mrs. Margaret M. Browning, wife of the late Rev. Charles P. Browning, died Wednesday afternoon at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hart, 811 Franklin Avenue, in this city of cerebral apoplexy. Mrs. Browning was born in Indiana on October 3, 1868, the daughter of James W. Miller and Mary Agnes Lockey Miller. She had been confined to her bed for the past three years since she received a broken hip in a fall at the home of her daughter. She lived here a number of years ago when the Rev. Browning was pastor of the Presbyterian Church in this city. She returned here to make her home at the death of her husband some fourteen years ago. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Browning Hart of this city and Mrs. Margaret Patley of Cleveland, Ohio.
The body, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Hart and a sister, Mrs. Nannie Caster, was taken to Memphis, Mo., Wednesday morning by rail for burial in the family cemetery there.
