Son of Arthur Lee Sweet and Minnie Jessie Halley Sweet Stahr. He was a retired parts salesman from John Deere Tractor Co., a member and past Master Mason of Arkadelphia Masonic Lodge 381, a founding member of the Arkadelphia Running Club and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Helen Laverne Carter Sweet; two daughters Linda Kay McIntyre and Lea Ann Sweet-Jacobs and husband, Joey Jacobs; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday April 5, 2010 in the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Arkadelphia, AR.
