Lynda Marie McDonald, 43, Brookings, died Feb. 23, 2002, in Crescent City.

She was born Nov. 13, 1958, in Rockford, Ill. to Alfred and Gloria McDonald.

Lynda was a teacher at Brookings-Harbor High School, where she was the chair of the foreign language department. She was past president of the Brookings-Harbor Education Association, and was serving as treasurer of Delta Kappa Gamma. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Lynda received her diploma from Guilford High School in Rockford and received bachelors and masters degrees from Mississippi State University. She moved to Brookings in 1992.

She is survived by her father, Alfred McDonald of Bay St. Louis, Miss.; brother, Steven A. McDonald; sister-in-law, Connie; and niece, Maria Anna of Salem.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Gloria McDonald.

A funeral service will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, in the Brookings-Harbor High School gymnasium. Dr. Gordan Myrah of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate.

Memorial donations may be made to the Brookings-Harbor High School Lynda McDonald Memorial Fund.

Redwood Memorial Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
