-- FORT MILL - Mr. David M. Blanchard, 75, of 1298 Gardendale Road, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 3, 2010, at Carolinas Cornerstone Church, with the Rev. Barry Yates officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park - S. Cherry Road.
A native of Monroe, N.C., David was the son of the late Lee and Hattie Mae Hunter Blanchard. He worked in the card room of Springs Industries in Fort Mill prior to becoming a carpentry sub-contractor, a trade in which he worked for 47 years. David was a member of Carolinas Cornerstone Church.
Surviving are his wife, Gracie M. Blanchard of the home; his son, Donnie Blanchard of Rock Hill; three daughters, Peggy Robertson and husband, Lee, of Fort Mill, Janice Mullinax Blanchard of Fort Mill and Linda Hill and husband, Phillip, of Rock Hill; one brother; three sisters; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his daughter, Mildred Monteith Taylor and two brothers.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 2, 2010, at Carolinas Cornerstone Church and other times at the home.
Memorials may be made in Mr. Blanchard's name to Carolinas Cornerstone Church, 1790 Gardendale Road, Fort Mill, SC 29708.
