Mrs. Hattie Gay Hodge Holt, age 82, died Tuesday in Lewis-Gale Hospital, Salem.

She was born December 14, 1908, at Trigg, Va., the daughter of the late Robert Huffman and Nancy Stephens Hodge.

She was the widow of Lee Roy Holt and was preceded in death by two sons, David Holt, Sr. and Everett Edgar Holt.

She is survived by two sons, Roy L. Holt, Pearisburg; and Emmitt R. Holt, Salem; seven daughters, Mrs. Mamie Reynolds, Narrows; Mrs. Fannie Stanley, and Mrs. Gaye White, both of Salem; Mrs. Nannie Sharpe, Petersburg; Mrs. Margaret Robertson and Mrs. Patsy Austin, both of Alexandria; Mrs. Roxie Richardson, Roanoke; one brother, Frank Hodge , Radford; thirty-five grandchildren, thirty-nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ralph Morgan, the Rev. Jim Burks, and the Rev. Joyce Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visiting will be Thursday after 1:00 p.m. at the A. Vest and Sons Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
