BURNSVILLE, W. Va. — Paul Allen Berlo, 59, of Burnsville, WV, died Monday, March 29, 2010, at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born September 9, 1950, in Cleveland, and had been a West Virginia resident for 13 years moving from Lorain.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving from 1971 to 1973.
He worked at the Lorain Ford Plant for 19 years. He was a volunteer Fireman in Sheffield Lake, Ohio and Burnsville, WV. He also worked as a wide load escort in West Virgina for 13 years. He was a life member of AMVETS Post 47, Lorain.
He is survived by his daughters, Melissa (Ronnie) Conrad of Burnsville, WV and Amanda; sons, Gregory (Sharon) Berlo of Burnsville, WV, Michael (Dianna Conrad) Berlo of Burnsville, WV, and Jonathan (Melissa) Berlo of Parkersburg, WV; 14 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, sisters, Arlene (Bob) Kostura of Parma Heights, Ohio, Donna (Joe) Stubnar of Long Bottom, OH, Karen Gilkerson of Elyria, Paulette (Jim) Walts of Amherst, Joyce (Bill) Porter of Sheffield Lake, Barbara Vander Sluis of Vermilion and Cathy (Jim) Young Phoenix, AR and a brother, Albert Berlo of Vermilion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter & Ethel (nee Miles) Berlo.
Friends may call Friday, April 2, 2010 from 11 am until the time of the funeral service at 1:30 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. The Reverend Terry Parker will officiate. Interment will follow in Brownhelm Cemetery, Vermilion.
