Joseph Guest died in 1828
at 8 months of age and was
the first interred at John
Provolt's cemetery, which
later became known as Fryback
Graveyard after later owners.
Among those buried here is an
American Revolutionary War
veteran, John Gray (1738-1830).
Provolt Cemetery measures 152
feet by 152 feet within a barb
wired field fence erected in
the 1950's to replace a wrought
iron fence that disappeared.
The service gate is located
at the east side and the walk
gate is situated at the north
side of the cemetery.
This cemetery was badly
neglected by township
trustees and sustained
considerable damage by
vandals during the 1950's
and later times.
