Congressman David Walker was the son of Willis Walker and his wife Mary (Randolf) Walker. Brother to 10 surviving siblings. Married Mary Barbor and moved from VA to Kentucky settling near Russellville where 8 kids were born. He served in the Kentucky legislature in the early years of Kentucky government and also the War of 1812. Later he served as a member of the US House of Representatives, a position he held in 1820 when he died. His wife died the next year. The younger children then went to live with oldest sis at La Grange, Oldham Co. Son George would be lawyer in Florida and his son David Shelby Walker also became active in politics and law in Florida.
