Amanda died as a result of a horse riding accident. She was the daughter of former Randolph County Sheriff, Wilson Falkner (b. 1810 Edgefield District, South Carolina) and Frances (Frankie) Burdett (b. September 9, 1813 Pendleton District, South Carolina). She was the mother of John W.; Monroe; Emeline Martha A.; Wiley (Riley) Winston; & Samuel Ashberry Bean, who were all born in Randolph County, Alabama. Amanda's children lived with their grandparents Wilson and Frances Falkner, who later became their guardian after the death of their father, Wiley Jackson Bean.
