She was born Dec. 30, 1910, near What Cheer, the daughter of George and Katie (Tilton) Middleton. She graduated from Thornburg High School in 1929 and received her normal training at William Penn College in Oskaloosa. She taught primary school in Keokuk County, retiring from the Hayesville Public School in the early 1950's.
She married Roger Henson at the Little Brown Church in Nashua on April 12, 1947. The couple made their home in Hayesville until Roger's death in 1975. She continued to live in Hayesville until moving to Parkview Manor Nursing Home in Wellman in 1997.
She was a member of the Golden Rule Workers at the Hayesville Church, the Union Hall Hustlers and enjoyed crocheting, cooking and gardening.
She is survived by a son, Gary of Brazil, Ind.; a daughter, Londa Suter of rural Iowa City; a grandson; a granddaughter; a great-grandson; and a sister, Ellen
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother, Glenn.
Funeral services were held Tues., Oct. 16, at the Reynolds-Powell Funeral Chapel in Sigourney with the Rev. James Stout officiating. Burial was in the Pennington Cemetery in rural Sigourney.
