Mr. Virgil Carroll Cook, age 57, of Augusta, died Tuesday, March 9, 2010. A graveside Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 13th at 2:00pm in the Brownwood Cemetery, West Church Street, in Sandersville. Rev. Wallace Wheeles will officiate.

Mr. Cook was born in Augusta and raised in Sandersville, the son of the late Ivey Franklin Cook Sr. and the late Lorene Paradice Cook. He was employed by the Medical College of Georgia in Grounds Maintenance. Virgil was an avid fisherman and gardener. He was a lover of animals, of wildlife and of nature. He was a loving husband, brother and brother-in-law.

Survivors are; his wife, Laura Ann Joesbury-Cook of Augusta, a daughter, Sara Elizabeth Cook of Eden, brothers, Frank Cook of Blairsville and Mike Cook (Sheila) of Brentwood TN., a sister, Martha Lee Smith (Tom) of Carrollton and nieces and nephews Jeff Cook, Pam Flynt, John Michael Cook, Chuck Smith and Cindy Carr.
