Shirley Rabun Morris, 87, of Harlem, GA, entered into rest July 15, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
Shirley attended Georgia Teachers College in Statesboro, Georgia and received her Bachelor of Science in Education in 1957. She was a teacher with Columbia County School System for 27 years.
Shirley was an exceptional wife and mother. She cared deeply for her family and friends and found great joy in serving and nurturing them. She was known for her Southern home cooked meals. She loved going to the Senior Center daily when she was able. She was a community supporter; member of the Woodmen of the World, fraternal organization member, and Eastern Star member. Mrs. Shirley was a member of Kiokee Baptist Church and enjoyed the sweet fellowship of the Tracy McDaniel Sunday School Class.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, C. D. Morris; her daughter, Cathy Thurmond; two sons, Daniel (Jana) Morris and Daryl Morris; eight grandchildren, Danny (Candi) Thurmond, Dustin (Savannah) Thurmond, Lacy Mosley, Mitchell Morris, Dara Morris, Clay Morris, Bailey Morris, and Dylan Morris; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Derick Morris; parents, Edward and Stella Rabun; and sister, Mildred Staples.
