Mr. Bobby Ray Mangrum, 68, of Martha Berry Blvd., Armuchee, passed away Wednesday night, March 12, 2008 at his home. Mr. Mangrum was born in Minden, Louisiana on July 19, 1939. He is preceded in death by his father, Valton Wiley Mangrum; and a brother, Jerry Layne Mangrum.
Mr. Mangrum had been a resident of Georgia since 1976 spending the last fifteen years in Floyd County. He was retired from United Plastic Films in Cartersville after serving as Vice President for twenty years. Along with his wife he owned and operated The Yard Place Inc. on Shorter Avenue for ten years. He enjoyed woodworking, building storage buildings, gazebos, outdoor furniture, and playground equipment.
He is survived by his wife, Sherron Norwood Mangrum; daughters and sons-in-law, Margie and Mike Williamson of Monroe, Louisiana. Pam Mangrum of Rock Hill, South Carolina, Kim Barron of Centre, Alabama, Cindy Twilley and Mitch Maddox of Jackson, Georgia, Lynn Foley of Woodstock, Georgia; sons, and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Tonya Mangrum of Cartersville, Georgia, Curtis and Robin Mangrum of Marietta, Georgia; grandchildren, Jennifer Clements (Brian), Beth Mardis (Charles), Kellie McClure, Justin Mangrum, Rhonda Scott (Adam), Whitney Foley, Shelly Cantrell, Julie Barron, Chelsea Brasill, Sara Brasill, Marley Maddox, Brody Maddox, Samantha Foley, and Emily Foley; great-grandchildren, Noah Wood, Braxton Scott, Katelyn Mardis, and Hunter Mardis; mother, Margie Louise Foster; and his brother, Thomas Milton Mangrum, both of Minden, Louisiana.
Funeral Services for Mr. Bobby Mangrum will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. from the Oaknoll Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Davenport officiating. Entombment will follow at the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are asked to meet at the funeral home on Saturday, by 1:30 P.M. and include, Brian Clements, Charles Mardis, Adam Scott, T.J. Roer, Justin Mangrum, and Mitch Maddox.
