CLEMMONS - Mrs. Katie Lonsford Phillips, 94, of Clemmons died Monday, June 27, 2005, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born May 12, 1911, in Wilkes County to the late Ransom Boyden and Laura Prevette Lonsford.

Mrs. Phillips had been a resident at Clemmons Nursing and Rehab Center. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, and was retired from RJ. Reynolds Tobacco Co.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Zebedee B. Triplette; her second husband, Marshall Phillips; a son, David Lee Triplette; three sisters, Belle L. Burruss, Doris L. Tesh and Carolyn L. Tesh; and a brother, Robert Hugh Lonsford. Surviving are her grandchildren, Randall V. Triplette of Walnut Cove and Julie T. Murphy of Clayton; a great-grandson, David Triplette, of Winston-Salem; an great-great-grandson, Elijah Triplette, of Winston-Salem; two sisters, Sue L. Nichols of Hiddenite and Margie L. Faris of Kernersville; two half sisters, Alice Smith of Conover and Wanda McCormick of Asheboro; a daughter-in-law, Pat C. Triplette, of Winston-Salem; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall, with the Rev. Charlie Martin officiating. There will not be a stated visitation, but family and friends may pay their respects any time after noon today, June 28, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
