Esther May Baker
Esther May Baker, 85, of 1075 Old Harrisburg Road, Cottage 100, Gettysburg, formerly of Biglerville, died Sunday, Feb. 17, at Gettysburg Lutheran Retirement Village.
Born Sept. 22, 1916 in Huntington Township, Adams County, she was a daughter of the late Howard B. and Daisy Fahnestock Group. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Charles E. Baker.
She had been a former employee of the former C.H. Musselman Co., Pet Milk Inc. of Biglerville, and was also a co–operator, with her husband, of Baker's Meat Market, Biglerville, for 25 years.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Biglerville and the Volunteer Sunday School Class, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Biglerville Fire Company.
She is also survived by two sons, Theodore E. Baker of Gardners and Robert E. Baker of Boiling Springs; two daughters, Lucille J. Gillespy of New Castle and Carolyn I. Garman of Murrysville; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great–grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Richard L. Group and Ralph J. Group; and a sister, Jean Griffie.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, from St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Biglerville, with Rev. Robert S. McEllroy III officiating. Interment will be in Biglerville Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Friday.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 25 Franklin St., Biglerville, PA 17307.
Dugan Funeral Home, Bendersville, is in charge of the arrangements.
