Services for Edith L. Buwa, 87, 587 Union St., Niles, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Halbritten Funeral Home, the Rev. John T. Charter, Grace United Methodist Church officiating.
Buwa was born April 28, 1902 in Mechanicsburg, OH and had lived in the Niles/Buchanan area most of her life. On April 28, 1966, in Niles, she married Charles A. Buwa, who preceded her in death Sept. 1, 1969. A son and daughter also preceded her in death; Dorothy Roberts, Aug. 17, 1983, and Robert Gail Weaver, April 13, 1974. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, the Chit-chat Club, the Kayettes (Kawneer) and the WWII Mothers. She was a retired employee of Kawneer Co. She died at 5:15 a.m. Wednesday at Woodfield Manor, Niles, following an extended illness.
Survivors include two daughters; twelve grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and thirteen great-great-grandchildren. Burial will take place at Union Cemetery, Berrien County. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Halbritter's Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Berrien County Cancer Center.
