SERVICES HELD FOR MRS. CHADIE MONTGOMERY

Funeral services for Mrs. Chadie Montgomery were held Sunday at 2 p.m. by Rev. Harold Hodgson at the M. E. church. Mrs. Scott was born February 6, 1862, in Gault, Ontario, Canada, and died here Thursday, September 23. She married Alexander Montgomery in 1881 in Ontario, Canada, and soon after they moved to Michigan. Two sons and seven daughters were born to them. One daughter, Mrs. Bessie Gough, preceded them in death. Mr. Montgomery died December 26, 1931.

The Montgomerys moved to Tobacco township in 1900 from the southern part of Michigan. Five years later they bought land in Buckeye township, where they lived until the death of Mr. Montgomery. Then Mrs. Montgomery and daughters, Ruth and Wanda, moved to Beaverton, where she lived until her death.

Mrs. Montgomery was a highly esteemed member of the Order of Eastern Stars. Surviving her are two sons, James of Buckeye township and John of Springfield, Indiana; daughters, Grace McKibbin, May McDonald, Margaret Hogan, Nellie Inman, Ruth O'Flaherty and Mary Sherhorn.

Burial was in Highland cemetery. Gladwin County Record dated 9-28/1938 Column – 1 Page – 4.
