Clarence was the son of Thomas Franklin and Elphena Jane Scholl Burson. He married Gladys "Evelyn" Bishop 17 November 1939 in Boulder, CO. He graduated in 1940
from the School of Pharmacy at the University of Colorado. Evelyn and Clarence's children were Raymond Eugene Burson, Winona Belle Muldoon, John Alvin Burson, Leroy Franklin "Lee" Burson, and Nancy Jeanette McReavy.
