Born in Nelson County, Porter was a homemaker and member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in New Hope. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Leonard and Anna Belle Seward Hicks; a son, Stephen Porter; a grandson, Stawart Lansing Porter; three sisters, Norma Colvin, Inez Brown and Nancy Brennun; and four brothers, Fred, Jesse, Howard and Ernie Hicks. Survivors include: two daughters, Denise Hicks of Bardstown, Sheila Greenwell of New Hope; a son, Mike Porter of Elizabethtown; a sister, Shirley Ann Allgeier of Louisville; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
