Harriet Backus Wells, eighty-four, who was a resident of United Presbyterian Home, Girard, and formerly of 2923 Chestnut St., died Sunday afternoon at Hamot Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born May 9, 1880 the daughter of Andrew M. and Mary Elizabeth Moorhead Backus. She was the widow of Benjamin H. Wells.
Mrs. Wells was a member of United Presbyterian Church, North East.
She is survived by a brother, Harry E. Backus, North East, also several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Firman Funeral Home, 1216 Bartlett Rd., Harborcreek on Monday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be from the funeral home 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Robert C. Powley, pastor of the United Presbyterian Church, North East, officiating.
Burial will be in North East Cemetery.
