From the Colfax Clipper, July 1, 1905, Colfax, Iowa:

"TODAY Dr. Mrs. Alice Turner opens her beautiful home opposite the Grand Hotel for a private sanitorium. It will be known as the Colfax Rest Home and Water Cure. Dr. Mrs. Turner will be ably assisted by her daughter, [Vera] in it's management. Guests will be received for one to seven weeks. Every effort to maintain quiet and rest will be enforced and competent attendants will minister to the comfort of the guests. Rest Homes are unique and favorite institutions."
