George McMullen died Tuesday morning at 8 o'clock of Bright's disease.

The funeral is being held at the Christian Church at 11:00. Mr. McMullen died at his home near the German church Tuesday morning, at eight o'clock, after a severe illness. The cause of his death was bright's disease and he has been in failing health for some time. He had reached the age of 54 years, 6 months and 16 days when death relieved his suffering. He was born in Champaign county, Ohio, but moved to Keokuk county many years ago and has continued to reside here with the exception of a short time he and his family resided in Missouri. Be sides his wife, he leaves four sons and three daughters to mourn his loss, the daughters are Mesdames Will Morris, Robert Storey and George Philips who all reside in What Cheer, and one son Earl who owns the barber shop in town. The other three boys are James Floyd, George Ezra and John Franklin and reside at home with their parents. Rev. Pettit of Albia who is an old friend of the family and was Mr. McMullen's pastor at one time, will conduct the funeral services. Interment will take place in Highland cemetery.
