Nephi--Mrs. Christina [sic] Sinclair Bowers, 95, Nephi, died Friday, 9:30 a.m., of natural causes at the home of a daughter in Nephi. Born June 4, 1867, Nephi to Mathew and Margaret Shirkey Sinclair. Married to Abraham James Bowers August 8, 1884 Nephi. Marriage later solemnized Manti Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He died 1940. Oldest Juab County resident. Survivors: sons/ daughters, A. J., Clarence I., Maylon Bowers, Mrs. Maude Robertson, all Nephi; Mrs. Gladys Ausdemorte [sic], Stockton, Toole County; Mrs. Nellie Tryon, Gusher, Uintah County; Mrs. Joy Tidwell [sic], American Fork; John Bowers, Las Vegas; Mrs. Leo Mangelson, Levan, Juab County; 52 grandchildren; 108 great-grandchildren; 33 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Jane Gadd, Nephi. Funeral Monday 1 p.m., Nephi Fourth LDS Ward Chapel. Friends call Anderson Mortuary, Nephi, Sunday, 7-9 p.m. ward chapel Monday prior to services. Burial, Vine Bluff Cemetery, Nephi.

She had fourteen children and all survived to adulthood. She also adopted and raised one of her grandchildren.

Note: Correct spelling of her first name is "Christena" (as written on her headstone). I have a copy of a signed affadavit with her signature and also confirmed the spelling with her last surviving daughter, Leona Mangelson, who was 100 years old (almost 101!) at the time.
