Sherry Lynn Cunningham
Feb. 29, 1956-March 28, 2010
HERMISTON - Sherry Lynn Cunningham, 54, of Umatilla died Sunday, March 28, 2010, at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Hermiston. A celebration of life gathering will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 31 at the Desert River Inn in Umatilla. Disposition was by cremation. Inurnment of cremains will be held at Willamette National Military Cemetery in Portland at a later date.
Mrs. Cunningham was born Feb. 29, 1956, in Portland to Milford William and Donna Jean (Anderson) Roop Jr.. She grew up in Portland, the youngest of six children, and attended Marshall High School. She married Jeff Thompson in Portland and they had two children. She later divorced and remarried James Cunningham in Portland. They shared family with her children and Jim's three children.
She was a homemaker and had a very artistic gift for painting and drawing.
Mrs. Cunningham is survived by husband James Cunningham of Umatilla; father Milford Roop Jr. of Portland; son Ian Thompson of Everett, Wash.; daughter Hannah Thompson of Portland; sisters Florence McWillis and Barbara Young, both of Portland, and Pam Coombs of Umatilla; brother Larry Roop of Portland; and stepchildren Matthew Cunningham, Loren Vetkos and Samantha Cunningham.
She was preceded in death by mother, Donna Roop, and brother Michael Clark.
Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in charge of arrangements.
