James "Jim" D. Adams Jr., 77, of Saint Joseph, MO passed away Sunday, March 28, 2010 in Saint Joseph, MO.
He was born May 28, 1932 in Albany, MO, son of Lizzie and James Adams.
He graduated from Albany High School. He married Alice O'Keefe on Mary 18, 1952. He served in the Army and is a veteran of the Korean War. He worked at Schreiber Mills for 34 years, and at Cub Foods. He enjoyed attending all his kids ballgames, he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, who never gave his kids a spanking. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars post #6760 and Copeland Baptist Church.
Survivors include son, Kenny Adams of St. Joseph, MO, son, Billy "B.A." Adams of St. Joseph, MO, son, Donnie "Boo" Adams of St. Joseph, MO, daughter, Treasa Adams of Saint Joseph, MO, six grandchildren; Steffanie Sethaler, Stacy Adams, Corey Riley, Chris Riley, Maggie Adams, and Brady Adams, four great-grandchildren, two sisters Doris Kilgore of Shawnee Mission, KS, and Shirley Clark of Bethany, MO, and his cat, Beefy.
James was preceded in death by wife, Alice Adams, father, James D. Adams Sr., mother, Lizzie Finley Adams.
Graveside funeral service and interment will be conducted on Wednesday, at 3:00 PM at St. Joseph Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, at the Rupp Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the American Diabetes or American Heart Association.
