Sarah Ann Snyder (Nosler) was born in Perry County, PA, 30 March, 1846. She married (Civil War) Lt. James Milo Nosler on 5 May, 1864. Together, they set out for California on the overland trail, taking great care of their prized possession, their iron cook stove. Her husband, James Milo, kept a handwritten diary of this journey which still survives today.

Her children were:

-Flora May Nosler (24 Nov 1867-17 Feb, 1877, died at age age 9 on the overland trail from "consumption", buried in Pueblo Colorado),
-Charles Edgar "Eddie" Nosler (29 Jun, 1870, Iowa-25 Feb, 1937, San Francisco),
-Margaret "Maggie" Alva Nosler (1 Jan, 1876 Washington - 10 Apr 1914 Spokane, WA),
-Ella Myrtle Caroline Nosler (28 Jan, 1876 Colorado - 19 Jul, 1957 Minnesota but buried in Spokane, WA),
-Hale Relson Nosler (male) (26 Nov, 1881 - 23 Feb, 1940, Pierce, Washington).

Sarah died ~April 1889.
