DALLAS - John Friday Jr., 72, died March 28, 2010, at Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia.

He was a native of Gaston County and the son of the late John Fred Friday Sr. and Virginia Quinn Friday.

He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, retired from Talon in Stanley and a member of Philadelphia Lutheran Church.

He is survived by two daughters; Cindy Lingerfelt and husband Mark of Stanley, Susan Lineberger and husband Joe of Dallas four grandchildren Lauren and Daniel Lingerfelt , Joseph and John Ryan Lineberger and a brother Joe Friday of Denver.

Mr. Friday was preceded in death by his parents, wife Glenda Mullen Friday and a sister Faye Friday Gardner.

A funeral service will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at Philadelphia Lutheran Church with the Rev. Gary Weant officiating. Burial will be in the Mauney Cemetery in Stanley.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church, and other times at the home of Susan Lineberger.
