Pawnee, OK — Henry C. Potter was born on May 14, 1921, in Pawnee, Oklahoma, to Marion Potter and Mary Whitlow Potter. He passed from this life on Saturday, March 27, 2010, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, having reached the age of 88 years, 10 months, and 13 days.


He married Eva Lorene Bias on Sept. 6, 1947, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and they moved to Ardmore from Perry in October of 2001. He was affiliated with the Christian Church, and was a member of the American Legion Post 53 in Perry, Oklahoma. He served with the 90th Infantry Division during World War II, graduated from Oklahoma State University, and retired from Exxon in 1979, after 29 years.


Henry is survived by his wife, Eva Lorene Potter, Ardmore, Oklahoma; sister, Mabel Potter, Stillwater, Oklahoma; son, David Potter, Ardmore, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law, Cindy Potter, Ardmore, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Jason Jump and his wife, Stephanie, Houston, Texas, and Steven Potter, Ardmore, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Jaxon Potter, Ardmore, Oklahoma, Micah Jump, Houston, Texas, and Maddie Jump, Houston, Texas; a number of other relatives; and many friends.


Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Mary Potter; and his half sister, Flossie Birdsell.


Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at the Eshelman Memorial Chapel, Highland Cemetery, Pawnee, Oklahoma, with Rev. Jim McCool officiating. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery, Pawnee, Oklahoma, under the direction of Poteet Funeral Home, Pawnee, Oklahoma
