Margaret "Betty" Helen (Courtwright) Berdine was the daughter of William Thomas and Sarah "Sadie" Ellen (Pettit) Courtwright. She was the wife of Parry Wilson Berdine. They were married May 7, 1921.

BERDINE.--Mrs. Margaret (Betty) Berdine, aged 65 years, of near Aleppo, tax collector for Aleppo Township, and her brother, James H. Courtwright, aged 67 years, also of Aleppo, died Thursday, October 25, 1962, as a result of an automobile accident near Holbrook. Mrs. Berdine and her brother had made their home together for a number of years. She has served as Aleppo Township tax collector for the past 16 years. Both were born in Richhill Township, Mrs. Berdine on January 18,1897, and Mr. Courtwright on June 24, 1895. Their parents were the late William T. Courtwright and Sadie Ellen Pettit Courtwright. Mr. Courtwright's wife, Ferne Anderson Courtwright, died in 1929, Mrs. Berdines's husband, Parry Berdine, died in 1957. Both Mrs. Berdine and her brother were members of the Aleppo Brethren Church. Mt. Courtwright, a veteran of World War I, was a retired employee of the Manufacturers Light and Heat Company. Mrs. Berdine is survived by two sons, William Berdine, of Fairmont, W. Va., and Ray Berdine, of Sisterville, W. Va.; sic grandchildren, and one great-grandson. Mr. courtwright has two sons, Roger courtwright, of wind Ridge, RD 1, and Boyd Courtwright, of Hickory; one daughter, Eva Jeanne, wife of Johnson B. Moniger, of Follansbee, W. Va., and 14 grandchildren. There are three surviving sisters, Miss Nancy Jane courtwright and Mrs. Myrtle Caldwell, both of Aleppo township, and Mrs. Edna Morris of Hadley, and six brothers, Ray, Robert, William, Leonard, Thomas, and Bert courtwright, all of Aleppo Township. Three brothers, Harry, Kenneth and Earl, are deceased. Mrs. Berdine was interred in Centennial Cemetery, and Mr. Courtwright was interred in Sugar Grove Cemetery
