FRITCH - Jessie Melvin "Tex" Morrison, 86, died Friday, May 5, 2000.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Brown Funeral Directors Chapel of the Fountain with the Rev. D.C. Lindley officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery.

Mr. Morrison was born in Yantis and had lived in Fritch for 53 years. He served with the Army during World War II and retired from Phillips Petroleum Co., as a leadoff man. He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church.

He married Alice Clara Cannon in 1942 at Crocker, Mo.

His son, John Morrison, died in 1994.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Jimmy Morrison, Ronnie Morrison, and Walter Morrison, all of Fritch; two brothers, Millard Morrison of Clarksville and Marvin Morrison of Midwest City, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice, 1000 S. Jefferson, Amarillo, TX 79101.

FRITCH - Jessie Melvin "Tex" Morrison, 86, died Friday, May 5 in North Plains Care Center.

Services were at 2 p.m. Monday at Brown's Chapel of the Fountains with Rev. D.C. Lindley officiating. Burial was in Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of Brown Funeral Directors.

Mr. Morrison was a native of Yantis and a Fritch resident 53 years. He married Alice Clara (Cannon) on May 2, 1942 in Crocker, Miss. He was a veteran of World War II in the Army and a member of First Southern Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by John Morrison in 1994.

Survivors include his wife, Alice of the home; three sons, Jimmy Morrison, Ronnie Morrison and Walter Morrison all of Fritch; two brothers, Millard Morrison of Clarksville and Marvin Morrison of Midwest City, Okla.; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Crown of Texas Hospice, 1000 S. Jefferson, Amarillo, Texas 79101.

Casket bearers were Jimmy Morrison, Ronnie Morrison, Walter Morrison, Curtis Morrison, Kevin Morrison, Michael Morrison and Kevin Mathias Morrison.
